Help Overcoming Tics and Stuttering in Children – How Can The James Holmes Technique Help?

Stuttering, Stammering and Nervous Twitches are three symptoms that can make the life of the child a complete misery. The nervous twitch that always starts or gets worse when you are in an uncomfortable situation or the Stammer you are nervous about that always makes that situation much worse, particularly when other children who don’t fully understand what’s happening can be quite cruel. Naturally children are quite often concerned if others have noticed them, thus creating more anxiety.

The Stuttering child who Clams up in lessons and finds that the more he or she tries to not Stutter or Stammer, the harder it is to say the word that is in his or her mind. The frustration and embarrassment element can be tremendous. The social effect of the sufferer can also be traumatic to the developing child as they can quite often withdraw into themselves to avoid ridicule. Other well meaning children can also unknowingly create more anxiety as they try to finish the words of the sufferer. Teachers can also on occasions be impatient. The more the child frets about their symptoms the more noticeable they become simply because the more they don’t want the Stutter, Stammer or Nervous Twitch to happen, the more they focus on it and so the more it happens, this is a classic example of what is known as coues law.

The James Holmes childhood Freedom technique can help child to lower their anxiety, so in turn they are less likely to express the tic or stutter.
